I used to sell put options (still do when the conditions are agreeable) but prefer to do covered calls as I then own the stock and if the price falls below my strike price, I still have shares to rent out the following month.

If the shares fall dramatically, I can still rent my shares out until (hopefully) the price goes back up and I have earned moneyfrom them in the meantime.

Hi Ange,

I never really thought of it as owning a piece of the company before. I guess people who really take this seriously go to shareholder meetings and keep up to date with what's happening in the company.

Generally if a company is in the kind of position where it can be taken over by another company, would that drive the price of their shares up or down? I'm thinking it would be up.
